Default How to: Delete Ravenwood from your flash cache

You will not lose any game data but "Enable Fast loading"/memory settings will be set back to default.

Close Ravenwood completely then go to this website:

    http://www.macromedia.com/support/do...manager07.html

The control panel on this site is not a photograph. It is the actual control panel.

Find "edgecast" and highlight it, then click "Delete Site"

*NOTE: It used to come up as "Ravenwood" but since Ravenwood switched to a different server hosting company it comes up as "edgecast". Sorry for any confusion this causes.

If the flash cache control panel isn't working then it really sounds like a flash problem, but other than unintalling it and reinstalling it I can't really suggest anything else. You should try to contact adobe customer care. Also you might want to run a different antivirus program (make sure any antivirus you use is legit, there are lots of great free anti-virus programs but unfortunately there are viruses disguised as antivirus programs.)

You have to click the link, you can't copy and paste it because this bulletin board automatically shrinks links.

You can also search "Delete flash cache" in any search engine and the macromedia url should be in the top 3 results

I see there is also an option to choose the amount of data stored... is that for every website visited individually or collectively for all? And if individually, how much do you suggest for the "edgecast" site?

It's for each individual website, the slider will only appear if you have a site selected. LOLapps tried setting it to unlimited to get the game to load faster, but it didn't seem to have much effect. Setting it to 0 can help some people who contently have to empty their cache or are on very slow computers. There's not really a "right" answer.

Which browser are you using (and version number which can be found under "about" which is usually near help). Is there nothing at all in the box? The whole thing is blank? Or just no edgecast in the block?

I tried signing in to adobe and then I couldn't find the control panel. I don't speak computerese, so the explanations by the box, on global security etc. I don't know what they mean. Please help if you can. Thanks from Me.

Another way you can get a Flash control panel is to right-click on any Flash applet and select Global Settings. This will either open a new browser tab/window with the settings or for some later versions of Flash, will open a stand-alone settings box.

On the first screen of the stand-alone settings you can "delete all" to clear any cache, or look at what is storing anything on your computer. If there are no sites showing up there, chances are that at some stage you managed to disable Flash caching completely. Look at the three options above those buttons to see whether this is the case.

There is also an "Advanced" tab in the settings box that has a "Delete All" button - this clears all browsing history, cache across ALL browsers on your computer, and resets all options back to default.
    Ragequitters are people too!

I'm having the same problem and there's no edgecast in the block. Is there any other name to look for?

No it should say edgecast in the name somewhere... unless maybe you aren't playing on facebook? Viximo, IMVU, etc might come up differently

The last time I went to delete, I couldn't finde edgecast, either. I ended up just deleting everything. I just assumed something was wrong with my cache, but there might be another underlying problem, too.

At various points people have randomly had issues with Internet Explorer, but then usually nothing goes to the flash cache. I assume it is a security setting somewhere but I have never found it.

Other than that I'm not sure.

    Question Uh...... why? How often?

OK, you computer buffs. All of you forgot to mention WHY someone would want to empty their Flash cache of Ravenwood whatevers. Why? And how do I know if I'm supposed to, and how often, etc.? What are the "symptoms" so to speak?

*lol* Sorry, this is mostly just a photo tutorial that is linked to from other posts that tell people to do this, in case the written instructions aren't sufficient.

In theory you never have to do this, it should manage itself. In practice, computers and this game aren't perfect! If the game is being "weird" this is a good step. For example if your game isn't saving, or it's going out of sync a lot, if you're having trouble clicking things, etc.

Sometimes if you are playing the game, and they put through an update (new content, bug fixes, etc) the cached version on your computer won't update -even though it should. Of course if there's new content then it's obvious that LOLapps has updated the game, but they often apply smaller fixes and that isn't announced. Other times the cache causes issues even when the game hasn't been updated, it's hard to say why.

It's also possible if you have an older system that dumping all the cached versions will help if done regularly, as you browse the internet a flash ads will save to your flash cache -even though you may never see the ad again (and don't care if do so if it took 1 second longer for the ad to load you wouldn't care)
