Question FAQ: "I can't get there"

Every time you click it says "I can't get there!"

This happens when your character is stuck. When a tree re-growth occurs your character may become surrounded by trees. You could locate your character and chop your way out, but that would be frustrating and there’s no need. Just click any empty spot and Huggin will notice you are trapped ask if you want to be moved. If you click [ok] you will be moved to the black squares at the front of your fair.

Very rarely a glitch will cause your character to end up on the cliffs or floating in the air. If you can provide a screenshot of this error (as they think they’ve completely fixed the problem) you will get a reward (see tutorial below). The fix is the same, just click an empty spot.

For more details see the tutorial

There is a game, building, decoration, etc on the cliffs/walls surrounding your fair

Click the arrow (multi-tool) in the lower right of your fair and a small menu will pop up. Pick the move arrow (green arrows) and you can move any object including those that are out of reach, are partially built, need to be restocked/recharged, etc.

For more information on using the multi-tool see the tutorial

A specific attraction or decoration gives this message for no apparent reason

Occasionally the game “forgets” that a tree/object has been removed so it still sees it as in your way. Reloading the fair usually clears this error.

If that doesn't work use the multi-tool to move the attraction/decoration. The reason it is unreachable may become obviously. Move it back, if desired.

If that doesn't work delete Ravenwood from your flash cache following these directions

If this doesn’t solve the problem, or you want to contact the developers follow these instructions.

May I add to this Cordelia?

I should have taken a screen shot, because in this case, I don't think it was a glitch as much as a normal operation of the game.

I was getting frustrated over the "I can't get there" message when my Avatar was standing right there next to the Rock.

Three rocks in a horizontal row, the rightmost rock is against the wall of the next tier up. Nothing now in front of these rocks!
You work your way vertically down a row of rocks without a problem, but when you get to the last rock, it says "I can't get there"!
I think the reason for this is the Avatar can only Shatter the rock from it's left side IF it's against the top border of the playing field.
Or jokingly, it painted itself into a corner!
It CAN break the rock to the Upper LEFT of the one it is saying "I can't get there", even though another rock is to it's left.
And after that left rock is cleared, THEN you can break the rock you were trying to break, as the Avatar will move into that left location in order to break it.
But it is odd, nonetheless, that the Avatar is standing AT the rock and saying "I can't get there"!

There are some rocks in the mine that appear to be on the wrong level. In other words, they float above your avatar at the height of the mezzanine level instead of at your feet. If you're standing on the mezzanine next to these rocks trying to chop them, and there's no path TO these rocks below, then you WILL get the "I can't get there" message.

Does that clarify what I think you're trying to say? It's hard to tell.

What if a tree is floating/on the cliffs and "I can't get there!" to chop it down?

Hi Dangle - I know that thread was a long time ago. But what is happening, and it's repeatable. If a rock is in a Corner and a new rock grows to it's left, even with the Avatar standing directly in front of it, you can't chop it. The Avatar only works on some rocks from their Left Side.

Also, I've had many times where I've walked up to a tree that needed 4 chops, the Avatar would make 2 chops into the tree, giving the points, then say "I can't get there" -
Now logic would dictate that if he could get there to make the first 2 chops with the ax, and is standing in the same spot, that it should be able to make 2 more chops on the same tree.
By the way, the Avatar is standing in the CLEARING, walking up to a forest of trees, making 2 chops, then saying it can't get there. Nothing else is around the Avatar.

For Polar - If a tree, building or anything else is FLOATING away from the game board, and you get the message you can't get there. Often, if you select the MOVE tool from the toolbox, you can move the item back onto the Fair where you can get to it.
I've had roots, trees, and decorations floating out in space and was able to retrieve them with the move tool.
The only thing I haven't been able to do was to move the house that was on top of a building off of it. The selection tool would select both of them, but not move them. I finally managed to nab the one on the bottom only, moved it, then reloaded the game and the one on top dropped down to the ground and was then movable.

The game continues to slow down considerably during play, regardless of the browser or OS I'm working from. This tells me they forgot to include destructors along with the constructors in the programming when the class object is finished, a usual heap memory problem occurrence if programmers don't mind their p's n q's and release the memory when finished with it.

Appreciate the suggestion, but it didn't work. I still have two full grown trees floating along the left side of my fair that I can't chop or move. Anything else I can try?

This is a known issue, and will be fixed for everyone at the same time:
