[RESOLVED BUT action required] Gifts reappearing after being accepted / other issues

The post above indicated this current snafu is possibly due to an update when the devs were working on the game or the server.

May I suggest that IF the devs know that they plan to update the server or game at a specific time or day, can they post a message (like the ones warning that a pack is about to be removed from the game) to tell us that from X to Z time PST on such and such a day, the game may be unreliable or not loadable due to upgrades, etc.

If we choose to play the game during that time, at least we have some comfort in knowing it might not be us and it might not last long.

Just a thought.

This was not due to a scheduled update, none were scheduled for this time. This may be due to an announced facebook upgrade as those generally happen on Tuesdays. It is also possible that there was an emergent problem that a LOLapps tech stepped in to fix and the fix caused further issues, however there is no way to tell you in advance of such repairs.

Additionally no gifts are actually going missing. They are just not added to your inventory more than once.

Okay, so this is a known issue. That is all fine and wonderful . . . but what are they DOING about it? Gifts can't be accepted because the gift box is full until we can clear out all the old ones. I have more than 100 more new gifts waiting to be accepted. This is making it a waste of time to even play the game. Gifts asked for can't be accepted and sent back. The quests we're working on have come to a complete stop. If nothing else, let us know how much longer you expect this to take to fix. "We're working on it" tells us nothing -- we've been waiting almost a full day.

I cleared the gift list from the facebook page then cleared it from the RF page because I wasn't being able to accept them I have now lost over 50 gifts but the newest gift seems to have been accepted ok. Really peed off

As far as I can tell, I didn't lose any gifts despite having the problem described in this thread. I did the following:
- claim all gifts
- open the messages again and click all the claims. Repeat until it actually thinks the list is empty. (Actual new links let me gift back and/or showed the name of the gift I got and not just the icon)

Note this only works if you don't get any new gifts while you're doing it. As soon as you get one the counter goes back to 50 and you have to reclick all those gifts again.

I'd been doing that all day and having to keep clicking the same links. Then saw the trick mentioned here about clearing the game requests. So I did my steps above and cleared 100 requests. Then had to do it a couple more times as I had about 250 pending requests. Since doing that, the problem hasn't come back (so far anyway).

Hope that's of help to someone else here. (and managed to post just after the real fix apparently. Still perhaps useful if the problem comes back).

I did not mean to imply this was in response to an update, just suggesting for future updates that if there is a reasonable possibility of game snafus while updates are underway, warning us ahead of time (not for a week, maybe for a few hours before planned updates or whatever) might take some of the edge off when the game is not responding as we players would like.

I'll admit to being a little annoyed, but not enough to leave the game. I'm current on all quests and don't really need anything until the new quests come up. It's more about helping my friends & neighbors with their quests, which I am unable to do at the present. I warned all of them there is an issue and a couple of them thought they were losing their minds over this. I know it's a temporary thing and will be resolved as soon as the devs & techies can get it done.

Appreciate all you guys do and am looking forward to see what else is in the pipeline. Sorry for the grief we are all giving you regarding the current snafu.

On the up side, at least we each know if we could deal with being a tester for future games! LOL

well suddenly seems to have cleared but I don't think I got all my gifts that had been stuck in the system still hopefully we can return to normal now.

Could you please provide more details? It is possible there is more than one issue. It is also possible that you will have to accept all the duplicates one last time after the fix to clear them.

I noticed an old problem reappearing with the gift center today. When I accept a gift the picture moved to the left and I couldn't send the gift back. I cleaned the cache but the problem still reappears. I also noticed that every time I refresh the game the same gifts from the same users reappear again.

I am still having issues with accepting gifts.

Some don't accept at all they just keep flashing and coming back.

These are new gifts that come each day. I did clear my cachet and delete all the old stuck one.

What do you mean by "flashing"? That sounds like it may be a different issue, but I haven't heard anything similar?

Their still messed up. I accept and it goes away but flashes back into the list. Then I have some that I accept and the don't go away at all. The button goes away but the persons Avatar and the text stays.

Based on what happened tonight it may be the stuck one prevents all the other from going away?

When I deleted the stuck one all the ones under it went with it.

Have there been any new updates on this issue? I recently have had the same problem with the disappearing "send a gift back" button. MOST of my gifts I am able to accept and respond with a thank you gift, but I still feel bad about the ones I can't regift. :/
