Why can't I sign up for email?

For the past few days I've been trying to sign up for email thru game, clicking on the "Just for you: Free Stone Cottage when you sign up for email! Allow email!" link right above game window, but nothing happens. I've used both Internet Explorer AND Chrome, with no resolution. Also, as per suggestions on the forum, I've opened the "Communications Settings" dialog further down the page, but it either does nothing when clicking 'confirm' and 'resend' or I'm taken back to the game and a popup appears saying: "Oops, not so fast, we need email permission to send your free gift." I click on the "Yes, I want to do this" button, and again....nothing happens, no email, letter, nothing from Ravenwood Fair appears in my inbox. I've tried these options multiple times, and frankly...I'm about done.

There is another issue worth mentioning, which is evident in the image here --often the friends listed along the bottom will lose their names. Suddenly everyone is just 'Friend', over their picture, including my own.


I'm frustrated. Have no idea what to do at this point. Please, can anyone help?

Should I send a formal report on this? Or should I just forget it?

Have you tried clearing your cache lately?

How To Delete Ravenwood from your Flash Cache.

You will not lose any game data but "Enable Fast loading"/memory settings will be set back to default.

Close Ravenwood completely then go to this website:

The control panel on the web is not a photograph. This is the actual control panel. Find "edgecast" and highlight it, then click "Delete Site"

*NOTE: It was previously listed as "Ravenwood" in the flash cache, since Ravenwood switched to a different server hosting company it comes up as "edgecast". Sorry for any confusion this causes.

There's also a link under the game play settings called "Communication settings" which can be used to change you subscription settings.

rachy18, thank you for your quick reply! I appreciate your suggestion and thank you for clearing up the name of the site to clear in the flash cache. However, since reading this, I've cleared the flash cache a few times, but when returning to the game and clicking all the same links there is no change. Both with the link above the game screen and in the Communication Settings. I'm now having issues receiving gifts and sending 'thank you' gifts from the message board... I like the game, but if I can't receive gifts to finish quests, or help friends, it really isn't that fun anymore. Hope things get worked out soon.

In IE, one link opens a new tab saying that it cannot show the information and I have to open a new tab. Clicking that opens the game again. In Chrome, none of the links work. The one supposed to resend a letter to my email sometimes opens the 'oops-need permission' box, but clicking that only irritates the thing as it flashes every time I click it. Odd when you click communication settings it should just load in the same space as the game. IE often has some odd security settings but in more than one browser.

It's almost like your javascript isn't working and yet that's almost impossible. Do you have a really restrictive firewall?

Facebook's also been playing with a number of things over the last few days; so it may just go away on it's own.
