Make sure your quarry is empty.
Chop in the interior if possible, vines produce stone as well as canvas in the interior.

I was wondering the same thing. I have basically quit playing the game because I constantly run out of wood and stone and I don't have time to sit on Facebook and visit all my neighbors to get it. The buildings use so much just to buy them, then you have to whack it about 30 times to complete it, which takes even more wood and stone...It is starting to get ridiculous!!

Very few of the buildings take that many hits, the average is about 15.

Each player needs to find the balance that works for them. If you find neighbour visits tedious then leave more of your city open for growth and focus on getting extra energy in different ways. Remember that totems will block growth, including the large ones, and that your neighbours can charge your totems if you leave them uncharged which may block growth.

The interior can be a great place to obtain resources as decorations do not add to your rank in the interior.

    This is what i do.

    1) cut down everything and then move all totems to one area, just in case my neighbors charge them. They seriously block re growth.

    2) I stash buildings that have non collectibles. no point keeping them in city and max city is 30 anyways.

    3) I crop the king melons (purple melons) . This is because the collection reward is 120 stone. You also get the bonus reward of 120 wood for Golden hills collection. I plant lots of these. ANd regular complete collections more than a few times a day.

FYI Last count I had about 120 farm plots. ( extra plots purchased with coin, easiest way to collect extra coin is to max out your storage items and get extra coin for surplus gifts btw)

    4) I also chop down in the interior also, But i drag my totem around with me when i do that as bosun appear very often and i do not want to waste to much energy on them.

    5) I make sure i have no spots hidden behind buildings that grow rock/vine as this will inhibit your regrowth also. It seems to top out at a certain amount/ percentage and if a large portion is hidden behind buildings it will not regrowth extra if you already have lots.

Thats just some of the things i Do.
    hope it helps

yes, grow melons at all times you are not having to grow anything else. I have the same number of plots as energy I have on my full energy bar.

If you suddenly get a quest requiring growing you urgently want to start you can clear the plots you need to plant what is required by using the selling tool on the plants, or just buy some more plots.

Haha! I was having the same problem, been griping about not having enough stones. Finally came to the boards to see whats up and of course all of your solutions worked perfectly. They might want to mention that in some sort of Totem Description. Hey leave them off or nothing will grow, and don't put anything in your quarry and leave it on all night. Ugh.

    Thanks

When I started playing I made the mistake of paving the whole city, of course there was no regrowth. I only did that until I reached city level 30 (max level), now I leave my city "naked" and there's always stones and vines to chop from.
