    Default Unhappy with drop rate

I like that we can have items drop in order to fulfill quest/building requirements but the items do not drop enough. At this time I need 56 of one item and 56 of another and just cut down all my trees and not one item dropped. I know I can use material detector, but even using that doesn't make many items drop. Also, nothing is dropping from neighbors trees except wood.

If we are unable to request items through newsfeed and on the cooperative, then please make the drop rate significantly higher. I find this new system is making me lose interest in the game.

This new system is not working for me at all. Needs a much higher drop rate.

If you chop 10 times and no materials drop your game isn't working properly. Try reloading the game, and make sure you have adequate bandwidth and system resources available.

Clearing your flash cache may also help.

How To Delete Ravenwood from your Flash Cache.

You will not lose any game data but "Enable Fast loading"/memory settings will be set back to default.

Close Ravenwood completely then go to this website:
    http://www.macromedia.com/support/do...manager07.html
The control panel on the web is not a photograph. This is the actual control panel. Click "delete all sites" then confirm.

Thank you Cordelia for that tip, I will keep that in mind in the future...refreshing anyway...I already clear my cache regularly.

I do want to chime in here...I am also struggling with the drop rate lately. I don't mind doing the "work" on my own fair..in fact I love that people have to actually play rather than beg for everything. But it seems like the drops are less than they used to be. I never posted for things I could get myself, and I'm finding myself losing interest. It's taking more material detectors to find what I need, and visiting neighbors hoping they have an uncharged totem..for a chance at a drop...isn't that fun anymore.

I still love the game, I just wish it didn't take as long to find the drops like it has the past few weeks.

I agree although when it's a quest that needs, as Lanette stated, as much as 56 of an item and that much of another then I do request some help for those.

Love, love, love Ravenwood but now I'm getting tired of it because in juts a couple of weeks something like 4 or 5 new things have come out. Ok I understood Valentine's, I understood Mardi Gras, I understand these things but to bombard us then not let us ask for help with the drops when they're high volume is too much.

I'm in my last class before getting my degree finally plus have family issues going on. I come here to relax and enjoy and lately I'm not relaxing and enjoying with the changes. Please change it back before I find a different game to relax with, which btw isn't Ravenskye lol

    Thanks for the tip, Cordelia

Well, I did try that tip, and I do have broadband, high speed internet and also a spanking new laptop, still I'm getting nothing dropping. I just chopped all my trees and got 1 item needed for my quests. This is not working for me. I don't want to be a complainer, but I love this game...I've been playing it since it came out but I really really really think this new feature needs to be looked at again. I love the idea behind it but the drop rate is horrendous. If I visit my neighbors, I should be able to collect more items than just wood or collectibles.

Please pass this up the food chain.

I just did the math; and it isn't pretty... with 1 item dropping per day it will take me 138 days to collect all the items needed to build my 4 buildiings. That is saying that these quests are still active for the next 138 days and that nothing new is introduced.

    This leaves me 3 options:

    1) stash everything, regrow all my trees, use material detectors and energy daily to acquire the needed items, then put everything back out in my fair when I'm done and then reenergize everything, until the next quest items come out. This would mean spending all my play time whacking trees and stashing and redecorating... ugh.

    2) hope the developers see this as a 'problem' and do something to correct it. (hoping for a happy medium here)

    3) stop playing the game... this makes me sad. However, the game is frustrating me beyond belief. I went from several times a day playing to once a day.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it"... I think a wise person once said that.

How many chops, roughly, is "all" your trees?
Did you get any *other* materials dropping (except wood, and collection items)?
Also you should be able to collect building materials at your neighbours but with 5 chops it's not guaranteed you'll get one item per neighbour, sometimes you'll get one sometimes you'll get 3. Also charging neighbours protectors normally yields better drops.

    Edited to add:

I checked your account. I triggered a normal regrowth 4 times which yielded 7-10 chops worth of growth, and an impressive 3-5 material drops per regrowth (which is a tonne considering I was chopping 10 chops or less.)

However, while I am happy to pass on any and all feedback, the game does require you to have a certain amount of your island available for growth. Part of your small open area in the front is covered by a protector which will stop growth. Also it's all broken up, mainly into little 1 square wide strips which don't grow trees very well. The gorgeous turf covering most of your fair adds no fun points to your fair.

I can pass your account on for further testing but it's unlikely they would test it as they would say that the user should remove excess decorations and have a larger continuous area for growth.

Also, for everyone, don't forget that you don't need to clear out your whole fair to use a sleeping potion. It's up to you how many trees you want to get for your 5,000 coins, if you want to have a tiny cleared space and buy multiple sleeping potions that works too - just remember to reload the game before using each one.

Thanks for the look-in on my fair. I did remove a lot of the turf. Before removing the turf, I would get 14-20 trees a day which was perfect for my energy level. I guess this new way means we will be depleting our energy and having to buy more or visit friends. It is hard to visit friends because it just takes too long to load.

I seemed to get more drops today, I had 5 out of my 19 trees, considerably more than I have in the past. Still, this will take a very long time to complete quests with the new way. I visited 7 friends today and did not get any drops for building items except 1 sap.

I don't know, I guess bottom line, I hate the new way... but I appreciate the tips and help.

You get two food for sending gifts to people from their walls. Three food/mushrooms = one energy. Also all the food created by the food carts can be traded in for energy. There's really no reason to every pay for energy in this game, it's really easy to get

I have about half of my fair empty with trees, cutting all of them down everyday and it still takes too long to get the drop only items. Since we are unable to ask for these items, the drop rate should have been improved.

Have you tried using sleeping potions?

(And yes, I want the drop rate increased too!)

Yes I use sleeping potions. Except for when I am sleeping, all the energy I get during the day is used for cutting trees. I feel bad for the casual players, they will never be able to keep up.

I am very savvy at getting energy and retaining energy, it's never been a problem so far. However, with the new way the devs have made the game...requiring such enormous amounts of items that cannot be gifted, my energy and specials are depleting quickly. Because of this, I and other players will not be able to maintain long. Eventually (in a few weeks) our energy reserves and power-ups like material detectors will be gone. This will make the game very slow and unplayable, at least in the manner that most of us have grown to love and know the game.

I realize many people complained about using the cooperative thread for receiving gifts and perhaps they love this new way, but I truly think the players that play the game daily and used the cooperative frequently, will find this new way tedious.

I hope the devs go back to the way it was before. This way is definitely not working for me and no longer holding my interest.

I will give this game another week. If I cant keep up on the quests I dont think I will have any interest to keep playing.

On every new quest , the drop rates of the items gets worse ! =( , i've been trying to collect these "Shoe items" for the new "meet a bug quest" and i can spend my whole energy on cutting trees and only 1 shoe or 1 bug whistle drops.

Its so frustrating since i want over 100 of these items to finish the buildings and i've been cutting trees for the past 3-4 days and i've collected so far so so little. and i've tried clearing the flash cache and browser cache nothing works !

i hope this gets fixed ! its getting so annoying =(

I was hoping the decreased drop rate was just my imagination or a fluke, but the last couple of quest packs have seriously chewed up material detectors. Before, I might have used ten for the whole pack, but now it's going through 20 or more. That's just messed up. You keep increasing the amount of items we need, stop allowing us to request dropables, and now decrease the drop rate on the dropables??? I agree with both Rachy and Cordelia...the number of items needs to be decreased AND the drop rate increased...both. You guys have got to make those two numbers meet in the middle or this game will become unplayable rapidly. Those of us lucky enough to have stockpiles of powers and energy are chewing through them way too fast, and we can't replace them anywhere near as fast as they are going.

It seemed like it had gotten better today, but then in the mine I only got two dropped items altogether from a full energy bar's worth.(My energy bar is 41.) There definitly needs to be a balance somewhere, especially now that things that drop can't be gifted. I love this game and don't want it to get too much like Ravenskye, which btw I started out loving more than the fair but now mainly feel frustrated and overwhelmed when I play. Thus I do not play it as much . RWF is so relaxing and fun! I really don't want it to turn into another ravenskye type with this :/

I had 4 wells built, but I'm working on building 6 more so that I can keep up. Of course that doesn't help in the mine and I can't get more libraries. Hopefully they'll adjust something soon.

I have to quit playing now. I now have a job and will not be able to collect enough of these drop only items to be able to keep up with the weekly quests. When I was unemployed I was barely able to keep up. It seems like to me you dont want people to play this game. I will be checking back once in a while to see if these items are giftable again.

The drop only items have been reverted and should all now be requestable. It took them a few weeks to revert the changes, but they do listen to player feedback.
